I have been told that the picture quality of Comcast’s 1080i is better than ATT U-verse’s 1080p (all things being equal like viewed on same HDTV)? How can that be? To me, they are both digital signals, so you either get it or you don’t. If you get it OK, how can 1080i give a better picture than 1080p? Can this be true?
We just bought a 32 LCD High Definition televsion. This television is not hooked up to an HD box but is hooked to a digital adapter. I think the television looks blurry. I’m not expecting the BEST quality picture but I don’t think it should be this bad. Peoples faces seems to have dark shadows on them. Could it be the television or is this normal standard quality?
The tv was originally hooked to the cable that came directly out of the wall. Comcast instructed me to pick up a free digital transport adapter to improve the picture quality. It has imporved slightly. If I am not on an HD channel, shouldnt it look at least decent? Why would a DVD look sort of blurry as well? Thanks for all your help.
The Digital Transport Adapter is what they provided for free instead of purchasing a digital box. You take the cable that comes from the wall and insert it into the back of the adapter. They also provide a coaxial that goes from the adapter to the television.. Comcast explained that this turns an analog signal to a digital signal.
correction: digital to analog
