FTA Receivers and equipment

FTA Satellite Receivers come in many types, with many features. There are OEM and clones of the OEM types. Viewsat, Pansat and Captain are typical brand names, with clones being made from those. Some clone brands are ariza, fortec, and conaxsat.

Support is imperative in fta satellite receivers, because when your receiver stops working, or starts losing channels, the manufacturer (or the fta satellite community) will be quick to find a solution or a fix as it is called. Top brands have the fix very quickly, whereas clones have to wait for the fix to be converted to work with their fta receiver.

The difference from a clone to a original primarily is price and support. The features are just about the same.
